In my Own Words:
“The Delphic oracle said I was the wisest of all the Greeks. It is because I alone, of all the Greeks, know that I know nothing.” ~Socrates
I have always thought of myself as on the outside looking in, with everything and anything. Even of my own faith and belief system. Simply because I am a Monolatist Jew, I acknowledge the existence of all other gods in respect and acknowledgement of the existence of religions. I only worship and revere, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I feel that this not only keeps me honest about my religion, as well as objective about others. I love to study history, cultural anthropology as well as world religions. But in all honesty, I am not an expert on any of those subjects, not even an expert on Judaism. I am simply a writer.
Before college I was a bartender and rather aimless, had not quite found my passions or my purpose. After college I was a staff writer for Modern Witch Magazine, and was responsible for interviews and feature articles until Modern Witch went out of business. I then started working in market research, interviewing people as how they liked or did not like particular movies. After that I went back to writing, especially doing pre-production previews and predictions on www.TheReel-Scoop.com I enjoy being opinionated and find that predicting movie outcomes is a lot more interesting to people than picking out political outcomes.
As some who know me know, one thing I enjoy doing is exploring the cultures and beliefs of other people, and one way I do this is through the exploration and study of the food of people. National pride is shown through the food of the people as well as cultural heritage. It’s all very interesting to me how it all comes together, and how trends become traditions.
As for my own spirituality, I am the avid observer, I do not believe I have any powers or understandings of how spiritual healing work. This puts me in the camp of the skeptic, which is fine, I believe that everyone should know a good skeptic, especially one who just wants to put it all out in front and to let the people decide for themselves what is best for them.
I have my own political agenda. I am not afraid to admit I am one of those unabashed moderate card caring republican types, who votes for the candidate he finds least objectionable. I believe that the political playfield is corrupted by fear on both sides of the fence, each side trying to scare their own people with half truths and rhetoric in order to prevent the two sides from coming together, but that’s politics for you. The same can be said for most religious people, using fear a motivator to prevent people from coming together in understanding.
I do believe many people have the ability to be misguided. Many people will find controversy where none exists. People believe lies, and pontificate these as gospel truth and anyone telling them otherwise is simply dismissed as ignorant. It happens all the time in all forms of healthcare. Some people believe that giving babies vaccines will make them autistic, people believe that evolution does not occur and that the world is 6,000 years old. Some people believe a great demonic entity will destroy us all at a preconceived point in space and time. Some people believe that psychiatry and psychiatric medications are destructive and medically fraudulent, while others believe that you should medicate children to have them do better in school.
I have my own beliefs, I have my own ideas, but I never said I was an expert. And through my amateurishly modest approach to all issues I hope that I can show everyone where logic and truth and philosophy can co-exist in the physical and metaphysical world. So I hope that what I consider my unique ability to call it like I see it, will have the readers coming in and coming back for more.
